The Agriculture Anti-Narcotics Society of the University of Agriculture Peshawar in collaboration with Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Higher Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Higher Education Regulatory Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa organized a one-day awareness seminar titled:
“Social Campaign Against Drugs Prevalence in Educational Institutions” at the university. The seminar was presided over by Director Students Counseling, Placement and Human Resource Development Dr. Anwar Ali Shad. Deputy Director Agriculture Anti Narcotics Society Dr. Humaira Wassila, Chairman Sports Board Agriculture University Muhammad Bilal Marwat, Deputy Director Center of Excellence in Countering Violent Extremism, KP Ikramullah Khan, ANF KP Inspector Fukraz, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ms. Faiza Farooq, Sanaullah, Tayyab Khan, Javeria Yaqoob of Higher Education Regulatory Authority, university students and administrative officers of ANF Khyber Pakhtunkhwa attended the seminar in large numbers.
Dr. Anwar Ali Shad, Bilal Marwat, Dr. Humaira Wassila and Ikramullah Khan while addressing the gathering said that drugs are a curse. Awareness seminars and walks are being held in this regard from time to time at the University of Agriculture Peshawar, which are having positive effects. It is very important to prevent the spread of drugs among the public, especially young boys and girls. A drug-free homeland is the guarantee of the future of our young generation. We all together should protect our youth from this curse. With the support of the media and the public, we will eliminate the scourge of drugs. Let us pledge today that every person present here should spread awareness in this regard so that the dream of a drug-free country can be fulfilled. They further said that teachers should pay special attention to education and research as well as training of the students. The role of parents and teachers is very important in eradicating drugs, as they become good human beings and responsible citizens. Inspector Anti-Narcotics Force KP Fukraz gave a presentation on drug prevention and informed the students about the dangers of drug use and he also presented shields to speakers.
