LAHORE: Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Neil Hawkins met Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief organizer Maryam Nawaz at Jati Umra, a neighborhood in Lahore.
The meeting between the Australian envoy and Maryam Nawaz was shared in a post on PML-N’s official account on social media platform X.
LAHORE: PMLN Senior Vice President and Punjab Chief Minister Candidate Maryam Nawaz met His Excellency Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Neil Hawkins at Jati Umra today.
The discussion was mainly focused on urgent problems related to climate change. The Australian envoy and Maryam Nawaz discussed the need for policies aimed at mitigating the adverse effects of climate change. Both leaders agreed on the importance of joint action to protect the environment for future generations.

During the meeting, the two leaders also discussed strategies for technology modernization such as mechanization and digitization in Pakistan’s agriculture sector. Both recognized the crucial role of agriculture in the livelihood of most Pakistanis.
Maryam Nawaz and the Australian envoy also explored ways to promote an inclusive environment for Pakistani women. Both discussed the importance of gender equality in effectively addressing climate issues.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of mutual commitment to deepen cooperation and create a close partnership between Australia and Pakistan.
