Cricket Australia (CA) on Tuesday released the schedule for their upcoming domestic summer, which includes a visit to Pakistan for six limited overs and a five-match Test series against India.
Cricket Australia remains committed to exploring the possibility of hosting the India-Pakistan match in Australia.
However, Peter Roach, CA’s cricket operations manager, noted that there was no opportunity to organize a tri-series leading to a showdown between the historic rivals this season.
“We don’t have a three-way series in the FTP (Future Tours Program),” Roach said. “Going forward, we are always interested in matchmaking opportunities and content that engages our fans.
“It is fair to say that every country in the world would love to see India and Pakistan compete in their country. According to our records, we are one of the countries that asked this question.
“There is no room for that in our plans at the moment, but we will continue to talk to them and [consider] any other opportunities that arise. But in this particular example, there will be no change to the schedule.”
