Australia secures victory over Bangladesh in rain-interrupted match

Australia beat Bangladesh by 28 runs in a Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua.

The rain-affected match was postponed as Australia reached 100-2 in 11.2 overs as they chased down the target of 141 set by Bangladesh. However, when the game was cut short by rain, DLS was 28 runs ahead of the tie.

David Warner scored an unbeaten 53 off 35 balls for the winning side in a win that included five fours and three sixes.

Trawid Head also contributed an unbeaten 31 off 21 balls while Glenn Maxwell made an unbeaten 14 off six balls.

After captain and skipper Mitchell Marsh were dismissed, Rishad Hussain took both wickets for Australia.
