Attock: Youth Convention was organized in Hassanabdal District Attock by the joint collaboration of Hassan Abdal Welfare Society allottees, and SSDO to promote political harmony and tolerance among the youth. The event saw active participation from youth leaders of political parties, college and university students, and social and political leaders. The Chief Guest of the event was Sardar Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, a former Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) and Vice Chairman of the District Attock Government Development Committee, representing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.
The event was attended by APRA Convener Najm-ul-saqib, Raja Nobahar, Ali Ahmad, Shehzad Hussain Naqvi, President of Hassan Abdal Welfare Society, General Secretary Shahid Nazir, Anila Hazrat SSDO, Ch. Ashfaq Ahmad, President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Hassan Abdal, and Advocate Syed Ali Aqdas Shah. The ceremony was presided over by the Principal of Trends School, Farooq Ahmad.
During the event, students, political youth leaders, and attendees presented their suggestions in the form of a “Charter of Demands” to address regional issues and the culture of political intolerance. Responding to these demands and questions from the youth, Sardar Iftikhar Ahmad Khan said, “The issues you’ve raised will be my top priority. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab Government is providing excellent services. We’ve empowered the district administration to work more effectively, and your suggestions will continue to guide us. I will play my role in resolving issues like cleanliness, sewrage systems, water supply, eliminating drugs, controlling fake news and extremist content on social media, constructing sports complexes, promoting education, providing employment opportunities, addressing environmental pollution, reducing discriminatory behavior by the police, improving tracks for physical activities and developing recreational spots.”
He further emphasized, “A few individuals have damaged the political culture, and the misuse of social media is leading society towards extremism. We are continuously working to regulate these matters through laws and guidelines. The priority of the current government is public service. The exemplary youth convention you have organized is exactly the kind of program that is needed. It provides guidance and encouragement to politicians and social workers alike. Pakistan belongs to all of us, and we must work together for its prosperity, without distinction of political party, religion, or group.”
