The father of 10-year-old Sarah Shereef, who was convicted of her murder, was attacked in a UK prison. The attack left Irfan Shereef severely injured.
According to British media, two individuals planned the attack on Irfan Shereef. He was struck with a weapon made from a can, resulting in severe injuries to his neck and face. Although Irfan Shereef survived the attack, he is in critical care.
Irfan Shereef had been sentenced to 40 years last week for the murder of his daughter, Sarah. Her body was discovered on August 10, 2023, at a house in the Woking area of the UK, just one day after her family had traveled to Pakistan. Irfan Shereef, his wife Banish Batool, and his brother Faisal Malik have been wanted by the police since then.
In September of the previous year, after the arrests of the father, stepmother, and uncle, they were presented before a local court and sent to jail on remand.
