A new study reveals that people’s brains are generally at their best when they wake up in the morning.
Published in BMJ Mental Health, the research indicates that people tend to experience their lowest mood around midnight, while their mental well-being and overall health are at their peak in the morning.
Ffion Bell, a principal research fellow in behavioral science and health at University College London, stated that mornings are typically the most positive and uplifting time of the day for most individuals.
She explained that these findings not only provide insights into how mood fluctuates throughout the day but could also help in tracking mental health and guiding future treatment efforts. Since the time of day can influence how a person feels, it may impact mental health treatments as well.
Bell further emphasized that the study highlights the importance of considering time, day, and even seasonal changes when assessing mental health and well-being.
