RAWALPINDI — Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor of the United Arab Emirates, during an official engagement in Abu Dhabi, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on strengthening Pakistan-UAE relations, particularly in the areas of economic cooperation, investment and security coordination. Both sides also discussed regional developments and underscored the importance of continued collaboration to promote peace and stability.
The two leaders reviewed avenues to expand bilateral engagement across multiple sectors, with emphasis on economic partnerships and strategic cooperation.
Field Marshal Asim Munir conveyed Pakistan’s appreciation for the UAE’s long-standing support and investment in the country’s economy and security sector. He described the relationship between Islamabad and Abu Dhabi as rooted in historical ties and mutual trust.
He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the UAE, noting that the security and stability of the Gulf region remain closely connected to Pakistan’s strategic interests.
The meeting reflects ongoing high-level engagement between the two countries aimed at reinforcing diplomatic, economic and security ties.
