Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Islamabad on Monday, where the two sides held talks on bilateral defence cooperation and matters related to regional security.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations, the meeting focused on issues of mutual interest between Pakistan and Indonesia, with an emphasis on strengthening military relations.
Asim Munir holds talks on regional security
During the meeting, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, and President Prabowo Subianto discussed the regional security situation and exchanged views on defence-related developments.
Both sides reviewed the current state of military cooperation between the two countries.
Defence collaboration and training discussed
The talks also covered future cooperation in areas such as military training, counterterrorism, and capacity-building. Officials discussed ways to expand existing defence collaboration between the armed forces of Pakistan and Indonesia.
Visit focused on bilateral military relations
Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s intent to continue engagement with Indonesia on defence matters. President Prabowo Subianto is currently on an official visit to Pakistan.
