In a shocking incident that has been widely condemned, influential people of Mund Jamrao village in Sanghar district of Sindhar province said they amputated the legs of camels after entering the agricultural fields.
Despite the overwhelming evidence and public outrage, the local police opened a case against unknown people and accused them of partiality and inaction.
Yesterday’s incident was seen in a video showing the injured camel’s leg being amputated. The video has surfaced on social media, prompting users and prominent journalists to demand justice.

Popular journalist Hamid Mir took to X (before Twitter) and said, “When the camel entered the impressive Wadere farm, Wadere got angry and grabbed the camel with a staff. Cut off its leg.
Journalist Imtiaz Chandio, in his role, directly addressed Sindh Chief Minister Shazia Murry and PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, alleging the involvement of Sanghar district host Ghulam Rasool Shar.
“The camels continue to bleat, but the animals are not saved,” said Chandio, accusing the strong landlord of giving in to the inaction of the local police.
Responding to public outcry, the police in Sanghar village near the city arrested a man suspected of involvement in the atrocity. The incident took place in Nando Khan Shar village under the jurisdiction of Mangli police station. However, conflicting reports indicate that the police may be trying to protect the real culprits.
Somer Khan, the owner of the injured camel, denied the barbaric act and presented his animal to the media. “I have no enmity with anyone. I don’t know why the camel was killed,” he cried, demanding justice.
Sanghar Deputy Commissioner Imran Al Hasan Khawaja, in a rare move, drew attention to the incident after it was reported by Sama TV. A medical team was sent to help the camels. However, sources say that the influential people responsible for the act have been let off by the Mangli police, much to the public’s frustration.
