Lahore: The Punjab government has approved the glass train project to travel from Rawalpindi to Murree. A long meeting was held under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, where provincial minister Maryam Aurangzeb reviewed the development project of Murree.
During the session, approval was given for Murree development plan, beautification project, transport initiative and Rawalpindi to Murree commuter rail project. It has been decided to undertake international consulting services for Rawalpindi to Murree Tourist Glass Rail Project, to restore historical monuments, cities and regions like Murree.
In the meeting, a decision was taken to protect the natural landscape, move the hotel from a prominent location like Murree’s famous GPO Chowk, and remove the high-rise hotel from the mall to apply a uniform aesthetic and color scheme in the old building.
Additional amendments have been approved at the provincial level related to building regulations in Murrid.
