Mumbai: Popular Bollywood film producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced the second season of his web series Heeramandi.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions and Netflix India, the photo and video sharing app, announced the second season of Heeramandi through a joint post on Instagram. The post featured a teaser showing women dancing to ‘Heeramandi’ songs on the streets of Mumbai during an event.
In the teaser of the second season of Heeramandi, 100 women can be seen dancing in Anarkalis and adorned with heels. Netflix India has announced in its post that the meeting will be revived, Heeramandi season 2 will return.
According to Hindi media, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has confirmed the second season of the series and said that in Heeramandi 2, the character will move from Lahore to Mumbai and Kolkata after the partition of India and start his career in the film industry.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali said that the maids will continue to dance and perform music in the second season, but this time it will be for the producers instead of the nawab.

The series features a mega cast including Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmeen Segal, and Fardeen Khan.
‘Heeramandi’ is set in the 1940s and is based on the relationships between the nobility and the courtesans.
