Caretaker Prime Minister (PM) Anwaar ul Haq Kakar in a statement today emphasized that the recently concluded general elections in the country are a significant step towards promoting democracy.
The elections witnessed significant participation from various sections of society, reflecting the active participation of both sexes, a development that is internationally recognized.
PM Kakar emphasized the importance of recognizing victory and defeat as inherent aspects of democratic processes. He called on all stakeholders to realize the importance of these elections and urged parties and individuals concerned about electoral irregularities to seek legal assistance through available channels.
Prime Minister Kakar highlighted the resilience of Pakistan’s legislature, judiciary and executive and assured that impartial justice would be provided to all. While peaceful protest and assembly are fundamental rights, he warned against any form of agitation, violence or incitement to vigilantism.
The caretaker government says it will pass the law without hesitation, stressing that anarchy and disorder will not be tolerated at this critical time.
PM Kakar expressed concern over the potential misuse of the riots by domestic and foreign hostile forces to create law and order challenges.
He called for patience as political parties engage in consultations to form governments at both the federal and provincial levels, while adhering to democratic traditions and norms. The interim government hopes to quickly conclude this process through mutual understanding and respect.
This statement reflects the interim government’s commitment to promote democratic values, ensure a fair electoral process and maintain stability in the country during the post-election period.
