PESHAWAR – Ali Amin Gandapur of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has been elected as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He got 90 votes while his rival Ibadullah of PML-N got 19 votes.
Ali Amin Gandapur, speaking in the House after he was elected as the Prime Minister, said that their leaders had fought for the nation for 27 years, but historical cruelty was unleashed against their party. “We do not want revenge. This country and institutions are ours. We faced cruelty today and you will have to face it tomorrow,” he added.

He said he was saddened to be elected as the chief minister as an independent candidate. “We will expose the mandate that was stolen. Ignore the level playing field, we have been stripped of the ‘bat’ electoral symbol,” he added.
