After the price of bread, the price of bread has come down significantly in Punjab. This price reduction brings much-needed relief to households after the fall in naan and roti prices.
The price of bread has been reduced by Rs 50 to Rs 70 with immediate effect as per the latest notification.
In Lahore, the price of 750 gram bread has come down from Rs.230 to Rs.180. Deputy Commissioner Lahore announced that the maximum price of bread weighing up to 400 grams will now be 95 dollars.
The authorities have assured that these new prices will be implemented immediately, ensuring that the benefits of the discount reach the consumers.
On May 23, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz tweeted about the new price of bread, which was subsequently reduced and set at $14. Maryam said that the Punjab government has reduced the price of bread in the province.
The price of bread has remained at $14 in some areas like Lahore and $12 in Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar.
However, bakers in Multan rejected the government’s decision. Residents asked the government to take action to implement the decision and provide assistance to the people.
Bakers in Multan sell bread for $20 and naan for $25, although the price is fixed by the government.
