Deodar, a native tree species of the western Himalayan region, is valued for its ecological importance and contribution to forest ecosystems. Plantation initiatives can help support biodiversity, improve green cover and strengthen the long-term conservation of natural resources when accompanied by appropriate care and maintenance.

Tree planting also offers an opportunity to raise public awareness about the importance of forests in maintaining ecological balance, supporting wildlife habitats and storing carbon. However, successful plantation efforts depend on selecting suitable locations, using appropriate native species and ensuring that saplings receive adequate care to survive.

The activity reinforces the importance of sustained efforts to protect the environment and promote greener surroundings across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Officials and communities can contribute to a healthier environment by planting suitable trees, protecting existing forests and ensuring that newly planted saplings are maintained for years to come.
