Wah Cantt: The 20th episode of the mega national level IT event “Visio Spark” was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Department of Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Wah Campus on December 7, 2024.
This year, over 1,000 students from 50 renowned universities/ institutions across Pakistan participated in 17 different competitions related to Information Technology (IT), and Engineering.
The Rector CUI, Prof. Dr. Sajid Qamar, Mr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Operational Finance Lead, Crescent Bahuman Limited and Prof. Syed Kamail Tayabi, President ECO Science Foundation/Professor of International Economics inaugurated the event by cutting ribbon during the opening ceremony of the event.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid (T.I.,), Director, CUI Wah Campus welcomed the Rector CUI, Guests and participants in his opening remarks. He encouraged the participants who came across Pakistan to participate in this event to showcase their skills and knowledge. He said that the Visio Spark is an idea of culmination of innovation and entrepreneurship. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Guests, Guest of Honors, Judges, Participants, and event organizers for their meticulous arrangements and dedicated efforts. He also acknowledged the faculty members for their valuable contributions in making the event a success. A special note of thanks was extended to the event sponsors, Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Integ Laptop Store, Glaxit, and Study Abroad for their generous support and assistance in organizing the event.
The Chief Guest, Rector CUI, Prof. Dr. Sajid Qamar in his remarks appreciated the management of the distant universities who participated in this mega event all over Pakistan. He lauded that the Graduates of CUI are diligently playing their role for progress of Pakistan as well international community though their projects and startups. He said that our graduates are not only shaping their career but also serving for local as well as multinational communities with their best skill sets.
The Guest of Honor, Prof. Syed Kamail Tayabi, President, Economics Cooperation Organization (ECO) Science Foundation and Professor of International Economics in his remarks that it is an era of innovation and entrepreneurship led by the young graduates. He said that such events provides opportunity for the students to convert their idea into innovation.
The participants from the 50 participating universities competed in a variety of contests, including Quiz Competition, Software Project, On Spot Programming, Poster Competition,
Mobile App Development, E-Gaming (FIFA), E-Gaming (TEKKEN), Web Development, Logo Design, Code Debugging, Speed Wiring, ROBO Race, MATLAB Guru, Circuit Troubleshooting, Idea Competition, Ad Competitions and CAD Clash.
The Chief Guest of the Closing Ceremony, Mr. Amir Anzur, Chief Marketing Officer, Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), emphasized the critical need for strong Industry-Academia collaborations. In his address, Mr. Anzur offered the support of PSEB full support for such future events and also appreciated the role of IT companies for showcasing their products during the event. He advised students to stay updated with the latest technological advancements to remain competitive in the evolving job market. During the grand closing ceremony, the Chief Guest and the Director Campus presented souvenirs to the judges of the competitions and prizes to the winning teams of each competition, recognizing their outstanding performance and exceptional talent.
