Two-week meeting ban with Adiala Jail prisoners, including Imran Khan

A two-week ban on meeting VIPs and ordinary inmates at Adiala jail, including PTI founder Imran Khan, has been lifted. When the ban was lifted, MNAs Malik Amir Dogar, Ali Muhammad Khan, and Latif Khosa went to jail to meet Imran Khan.

According to Adiala Jail SP, the ban on meetings in the jail ended on Thursday. The purpose of the ban was to ensure the safety of over 7,000 prisoners, including Imran Khan. Relatives of all prisoners will be able to meet with prisoners under normal rules.

On March 12, the Punjab government banned meetings with prisoners in Adiala Jail due to security concerns. Two weeks ago, in a joint operation by Rawalpindi Police and Counterterrorism Department (CTD), security forces saved Adiala Jail from a major tragedy when three terrorists were arrested with heavy weapons and ammunition.

In a late-night statement, the Rawalpindi Chief Constable (CPO) said the three terrorists hailing from Afghanistan have now been shifted to a “safe place” for questioning.
