Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Sirajul Haq on Sunday urged the government to tackle environmental pollution.
Expressing his thoughts, Haq attacked the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over the billion tree project.
Only 5.2 percent of the area has forests, which are even declining.
According to foreign media, Lahore is the most polluted city.
– Siraj calls for strong democracy –
A few days ago, Haq emphasized the need for a strong democracy.
Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Haq said, “There is such a democracy in the country where decisions are made before and elections are held afterwards.
Recalling the recently held elections, he said, “Even till now, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has failed to clarify the delay in the poll results.
“Although Shehbaz Sharif has not been sworn in as the Prime Minister of the country, but [Shehbaz Sharif] still says that the country has no option but to approach the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Describing the elections as a “fraud”, she said, “Even the recent elections were based on rigging like the elections held before.
