Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday finalized a sweeping economic map for the next five years aimed at bringing the nation to strong development and stability.
The Prime Minister today convened a high-level meeting during which he stressed the paramount importance of inclusive consultations with stakeholders across various sectors of the economy to ensure effective implementation of the proposed plan.
He emphasized that it is necessary to draw up an implementation plan to speed up the implementation of various projects aimed at strengthening the development capacity of small and large industries.
Prime Minister Sharif further expressed a firm commitment to prudent fiscal management and emphasized the need to curb government spending to avoid wasting resources belonging to the country’s most vulnerable segments.
He pledged to usher in a new era of economic stability and growth and assured that the coming five years would witness a concerted effort toward fiscal discipline and efficiency.
In line with the plan, measures are prioritized to increase incomes through the adoption of digitization and innovative strategies while promoting advances in agricultural practices to increase production yields per hectare.
In particular, plans to privatize certain sectors were revealed as part of an overarching government strategy to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
PM Shehbaz also directed the concerned authorities to organize a thorough consultation process involving all stakeholders to refine and finalize the proposed measures and ensure that the plan is in line with the aspirations and needs of the entire country.
