Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has authorized the use of her official helicopter for emergency patient transport.
The initiative comes in response to cases of loss of life due to delayed access to medical care, especially in remote areas.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed her concern over the tragic consequences of delayed arrivals at hospitals and emphasized the importance of speedy transport of patients in critical conditions. “People are losing their lives because they don’t get to hospitals in time,” she lamented.
Maryam also said that in case of an accident in remote areas, it is essential to take the victims to the hospital in time.
The decision to use the Chief Minister’s helicopter for emergency patient transport follows an incident at Sargodha Hospital where Maryam said she was extremely saddened to see the helplessness of a heart attack patient who could not get timely medical attention. Moved by this experience, she decided to take proactive measures to improve emergency medical services across Punjab.
In addition, the chief minister announced plans to launch the 1122 emergency service on highways, which will further strengthen the province’s emergency response capabilities.
In addition, she unveiled ambitious plans to introduce an air ambulance service in Punjab soon and highlighted her administration’s commitment to ensuring prompt and effective medical assistance to those in need.
She also reiterated the launch of an air ambulance project in Punjab very soon. The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Maryam, was given detailed information about the air ambulance project.
