Quetta Gladiators head coach Shane Watson praised Mohammad Wasim Jr. for his exceptional coordination and agility after hitting a crucial last-ball six against Lahore Qalandars on Sunday.
The win against the Qalandars secured the Gladiators a place in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine play-offs after four years.
In his post-match speech, Watson highlighted Wasim’s multi-faceted skills and expressed faith in the youngster’s potential.
“Mohammad Wasim jr and I have been talking since the first game about being as calm as possible. He’s got amazing hand-eye coordination and strength, so he just has to stand his ground and believe he can smash it,” Watson said.

Watson went on to compare Wasim to West Indies power-hitter and paceman Andre Russell.
“We spoke to him about turning into the Andre Russell of Pakistan with the skill and power he has with the bat. We already know what he has with the ball and he has amazing athleticism which we have seen on the field.” he added further.
It is worth noting that after the victory of Quetta, Karachi Kings were automatically eliminated from the fight for the last four places. The last four include Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, and Quetta Gladiators.
