Crackdown intensified against illegal housing schemes in Rawalpindi

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) is stepping up its crackdown on unapproved and illegal housing projects on the directives of Director General Muhammad Saif Anwar.

RDA’s Directorate of Metropolitan Planning and Transport Engineering (MP&TE) has issued notices to individuals and owners involved in 11 illegal subdivisions and unapproved housing societies in Rawalpindi.

Target areas include Ittehad Town in Mouza Harnal on Mandra Chakwal Road in Gujar Khan, Aziz Builders & Developers Pvt. Ltd. in Mouza Jarary on Jorian to Gahi Syedan ​​Road in Rawalpindi and various plots in different places.

The RDA spokesperson emphasized that the director general has directed the MP&TE directorate to take action against the illegal advertisements and file first information reports (FIRs) against the owners of these illegal housing schemes.

Owners of these schemes are requested to immediately stop marketing their unapproved projects and contact RDA for necessary approvals.

Failure to comply will result in strict legal action. The public is also advised against investing in unauthorized housing projects and is requested to check the status of housing projects on the official website of RDA (www.rda.gop.pk).

According to The News, the Planning Wing of the RDA has sought the intervention of the Cyber ​​Crime Wing, FIA to take legal action against false advertisements related to illegal housing.

In addition, RDA has issued a notice to M/s Reliable Marketing for promoting nine illegal housing projects including New Metro City, Al-Muqeet City, Mega City, Al-Imran Homes, Al-Imran Garden, Prism City, Sarwar Shaheed Garden, Housing Society Khan Village and Faisal Town Phase II.

The RDA remains committed to curbing the proliferation of illegal housing projects and ensuring that citizens are not deceived by false advertising.
