X (formerly Twitter) faced a temporary outage for more than an hour in Pakistan as hundreds of users reported online usage tracking sites after experiencing problems accessing the microblogging platform’s website and app on Saturday.
The platform remained inaccessible to several users on its website and app across the country for over an hour, between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM. The cause of the crash was not yet known.
The breach of the major social media platform came as the nation awaits the results of the national election.
More than 400 users reported website and app inaccessibility, according to DownDetector, detailing that most complaints up to 58% were about problems using X through the app, and 23% of users faced issues on the website.
Another online usage tracker, Netblocks, also confirmed that live metrics show X/Twitter network disruption across Pakistan on a national scale.
However, users managed to gain access to the platform after 5:30 p.m.
The same genre of outages were reported globally earlier in the month after users were unable to retrieve tweets and many others could only see older posts.
Users in other countries – including Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Turkey and Germany – have also reported issues with Elon Musk’s platform.
