RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Traffic Police have launched enforcement action against motorcycles fitted with illegal silencers, pressure horns and flashing lights in Kahuta, removing prohibited equipment from dozens of motorcycles and issuing traffic challan tickets to violators.
According to the traffic police, the operation was conducted by the Kahuta Traffic Sector as part of efforts to curb noise pollution and prevent the use of vehicle modifications that disturb public order.
Officials removed illegal silencers, pressure horns and flashing lights from dozens of motorcycles during the drive. The traffic police also announced that the motorcycles would remain at the police station until replacement silencers were installed.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam praised the Kahuta Traffic In-charge and his team for their enforcement efforts.

He said individuals responsible for creating noise pollution and spreading fear and disturbance through the use of such equipment would not be given any concessions.
Farhan Aslam stressed that excessive noise and sound pollution negatively affect human life and called for action against practices that disturb the public.
He also announced that mechanics involved in making unauthorised alterations to motorcycles would face action.
The enforcement drive highlights growing efforts by traffic authorities to address excessive vehicle noise and discourage illegal modifications. Loud exhaust systems and pressure horns can disturb residents, affect public well-being and create difficulties for other road users.
Traffic police have urged motorcycle owners to comply with applicable vehicle regulations and avoid installing unauthorised equipment.
