TOBA TEK SINGH: Practical measures are being taken to further improve cleanliness standards across Toba Tek Singh district under the Suthra Punjab vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Deputy Commissioner Maham Asif Malik chaired an important meeting to review progress under the Suthra Punjab cleanliness campaign. Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipal Services Dr Tariq Usman, district and tehsil managers, administrative and HR officials, and field monitoring officers attended the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner was given a detailed briefing on the ongoing cleanliness campaign and waste collection operations across the district.
Maham Asif Malik directed officials to make the door-to-door waste collection system more effective and ensure the target of a zero-waste district. She also called for cleaning teams to remain active along roads and for the overall cleanliness system to be further improved.

Special attention was ordered for the cleaning of railway lines, areas along highways and green belts. The Deputy Commissioner also directed officials to ensure special cleanliness arrangements at Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) hospitals and their surrounding areas.
She instructed authorities to ensure the immediate resolution of cleanliness-related complaints in all union councils. Pending complaints should also be cleared on Sundays to improve response time and public service delivery.
Maham Asif Malik said the main objective of the Suthra Punjab campaign is to ensure a clean district and that no compromise would be made on cleanliness standards.
Effective waste collection, timely removal of garbage and proper maintenance of public spaces can help improve environmental health and create cleaner and healthier communities across the district.
