WASA Rawalpindi Launches Action Against Water Bill Defaulters in Satellite Town

RAWALPINDI: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi has launched action against commercial and domestic consumers who have failed to pay their water and related dues for a long time.

The action was carried out in E Block, Satellite Town, as part of WASA’s ongoing revenue recovery campaign on the special directions of Managing Director WASA Rawalpindi Azizullah Khan.

The operation was supervised by Senior Special Magistrate WASA Amir Ashfaq Qureshi, Director Finance and Revenue Tahir Bashir Mirza and Deputy Director Revenue Akmal Yasin. WASA teams were also assisted by Punjab Police during the operation.

Speaking during the campaign, Senior Special Magistrate Amir Ashfaq Qureshi said all defaulters were being given a final opportunity to clear their outstanding dues.

He warned that consumers who fail to pay within the given deadline would face disconnection of their water connections and possible legal action.

He said the revenue recovery campaign would continue across the city without discrimination and that non-payment of WASA dues would not be tolerated.

Effective revenue collection is important for maintaining urban water and sanitation services, including the operation and maintenance of water supply and drainage systems. Regular payment of utility bills also helps public service agencies maintain essential services for growing urban communities.

WASA officials said action against long-term defaulters would continue as part of the agency’s efforts to improve revenue recovery and ensure the sustainability of essential municipal services.
