EPA Punjab Seals Lahore Plastic Factory, Confiscates 1,040kg of Banned Polythene Bags

LAHORE, September 14, 2026: The Lahore Field Office of the Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has sealed a plastic factory in Shera Kot, Bund Road, Lahore, after finding it involved in the production or handling of banned polythene bags.

During an inspection of M/s Choudary Plastic Factory, EPA officials confiscated different-sized polythene bags and polythene reels weighing approximately 1,040 kilograms.

The factory was sealed for failing to comply with environmental regulations, according to the EPA.

The action is part of the department’s efforts to control the use of banned polythene bags and reduce plastic pollution in Lahore.

The EPA Punjab has reiterated its zero-tolerance approach towards violations involving banned polythene bags and said strict enforcement is necessary to protect the environment and public health.
