ATTOCK: Sports activities took centre stage during Independence Day celebrations in Attock, as an exciting kabaddi match was organised among inmates at Attock District Jail, promoting fitness, positive thinking and healthy competition.
The event was organised on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Attock Dr. Mudassar Ahmad Shah. Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipal Services Aneel Saeed attended the match and distributed prizes among players who delivered outstanding performances.
Speaking on the occasion, Aneel Saeed said sports activities play an important role in improving the physical and mental well-being of inmates, while also encouraging positive thinking, discipline and a spirit of healthy competition.
The kabaddi match was part of a series of activities organised in Attock to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day. The sporting event provided inmates with an opportunity to participate in a healthy recreational activity and demonstrate their athletic abilities.

Later, the Additional Deputy Commissioner joined office-bearers of the traders’ association and members of the local business community in cutting an Independence Day cake. The traders also presented a commemorative shield to Aneel Saeed.
He appreciated the contribution of the business community towards the country’s development, prosperity and economic stability.
Reflecting on the significance of Independence Day, Aneel Saeed said the occasion serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s founding generation. He called for greater national unity, harmony and collective efforts to strengthen the country.
The celebrations concluded with participants raising slogans in support of Pakistan and waving the national flag, expressing their patriotism and solidarity.
