FAISALABAD, August 16, 2026: City Police Officer Faisalabad Tanveer Hussain has praised the role of Jawad Sports and Cultural Complex in promoting sports among young people and encouraging girls to participate in sporting activities.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held at the Jawad Sports and Cultural Complex, where he attended as the chief guest.
CPO Tanveer Hussain said sports play an important role in engaging young people in healthy and constructive activities. He particularly appreciated the efforts of Jawad Club in encouraging girls and providing them with opportunities to develop their sporting talent.
He highlighted the recent performance of Maham Nazakat, a player of the Hamida Afzal Cricket Team, who trains at the Jawad Sports and Cultural Complex and delivered an impressive performance during the Pakistan-South Africa Women’s Under-19 Cricket Series 2026 held in Karachi.
In recognition of her performance, CPO Faisalabad presented Rs100,000 in cash to Maham Nazakat at the ceremony.
Tanveer Hussain said Maham Nazakat had brought pride to Pakistan, Faisalabad and Jawad Club through her performance, adding that all stakeholders should play their role in promoting sports and supporting young athletes.
Chief Executive Jawad Sports and Cultural Complex Sheikh Jawad Afzal presented an honorary shield to CPO Faisalabad in recognition of his support for sporting activities.
The ceremony was attended by GM Jawad Club Mian Nadeem Ashraf, GM J-Tex Rizwan, Head Coach Naveed Nazir, Mian Kashif Fareed, Naeem Ashraf, Farrukh Mahmood, Hafiz Amin-ul-Haq, Muhammad Maqsood, Sheikh Umar, Rana Qaiser, Rana Munir Ahmed, along with players from the cricket teams and other sports officials.
The event underscored the importance of creating opportunities for young athletes, particularly female players, and providing them with encouragement and recognition to help them pursue careers in sports.
