LAHORE: The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA Punjab), in collaboration with the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), has launched a large-scale tree plantation drive aimed at expanding green cover across RUDA’s development areas.
The campaign has set a target of planting 50,000 trees as part of efforts to promote environmental sustainability, improve air quality and strengthen green infrastructure in the region.
The plantation drive was attended by Chief Guest Kanwal Liaqat, Director General EPA Punjab Syed Musa Raza, and Director General CPTC Amina Munir, along with officials and participants from the collaborating institutions.
The initiative reflects a shared commitment to addressing environmental challenges through increased tree cover and sustainable urban development.
Officials emphasized that large-scale plantation activities can contribute to cleaner air, improved urban environments and greater climate resilience, while encouraging public and institutional participation in environmental protection.
The EPA Punjab and RUDA reaffirmed their commitment to continuing collaborative environmental initiatives aimed at creating a greener, healthier and more sustainable Punjab.
