ISLAMABAD: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Monday released 282,600 cusecs of water from various rim stations, while overall inflows into the river system were recorded at 343,700 cusecs.
According to data released by IRSA, the water level in the River Indus at Tarbela Dam stood at 1,550 feet, which was 148 feet above its dead level of 1,402 feet. Water inflow into the dam was recorded at 199,100 cusecs, while the outflow stood at 169,300 cusecs.
At Mangla Dam, the water level in the River Jhelum reached 1,206.90 feet, which was 156.90 feet above the dam’s dead level of 1,050 feet. The inflow was recorded at 38,300 cusecs, while the outflow stood at 7,000 cusecs.
The release of water at key barrages was recorded at 265,200 cusecs at Kalabagh, 309,000 cusecs at Taunsa, 233,300 cusecs at Guddu and 128,100 cusecs at Sukkur.
Meanwhile, the River Kabul recorded an outflow of 36,200 cusecs at Nowshera, while 56,200 cusecs of water were released from the River Chenab at Marala.
The latest river and reservoir figures reflect continued high water flows across parts of the Indus River System amid the ongoing monsoon season.
