ISLAMABAD: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Friday released 535,100 cusecs of water from various rim stations as total inflows reached 663,100 cusecs, reflecting increased river flows during the ongoing monsoon season.
According to IRSA, the water level at Tarbela Dam on the River Indus stood at 1,522.11 feet, which is 120.11 feet above its dead level of 1,402.00 feet. The dam recorded an inflow of 340,000 cusecs and an outflow of 262,000 cusecs.
At Mangla Dam on the River Jhelum, the water level reached 1,185.70 feet, standing 135.70 feet above its dead level of 1,050 feet. The reservoir received an inflow of 60,000 cusecs, while 10,000 cusecs of water was released.
IRSA data showed that water releases at key barrages included 265,300 cusecs at Kalabagh, 292,500 cusecs at Taunsa, 130,000 cusecs at Guddu, and 56,000 cusecs at Sukkur.
Meanwhile, 77,300 cusecs of water flowed in the River Kabul at Nowshera, while 170,700 cusecs was recorded in the River Chenab at Marala.
The authority continues to monitor river flows and reservoir levels closely to manage water distribution and maintain preparedness during the ongoing monsoon season.
