ISLAMABAD, May 11: The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has partnered with Westminster Academy to launch the Rising Tennis Stars programme, marking the federation’s first collaboration with an academic institution to promote youth tennis development in Pakistan.
The initiative will introduce structured tennis training within the school system, focusing on early talent identification, physical fitness, and technical skill development for students at the primary level.
The agreement was signed between the PTF and Westminster Academy under the leadership of CEO Raheel Sajjad Khan, according to a statement issued on Monday.
Federation officials said the Rising Tennis Stars programme will be supervised by PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, Senior Executive Vice President Suleman Junaid, and National Development Director Sara Mansoor.
The programme will include coaching sessions conducted by certified trainers, with an emphasis on discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship alongside athletic training.
Focus on grassroots tennis development
The partnership reflects a broader effort to strengthen grassroots sports development by linking educational institutions with national sporting bodies.
Officials said the collaboration is intended to provide young students with access to professional-level coaching while encouraging regular physical activity within the academic environment.
Westminster Academy described the initiative as part of its commitment to balanced student development through academics and extracurricular engagement.
