RAWALPINDI, Feb 26, 2026: Security forces killed 10 militants during a sanitisation operation in Zhob district of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation was launched on February 25 as a follow-up to an intelligence-based operation carried out on February 24 in the same district, during which eight militants were killed.
ISPR stated that troops conducted a comprehensive search of the area to track down suspected militants hiding in different locations. During the course of the operation, security personnel engaged the suspects at multiple points. After an exchange of fire, 10 militants were killed.
Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the site. The statement said the militants had been involved in various terrorist activities in the area.
The military added that clearance operations are ongoing to ensure no other suspects remain in the vicinity. It reiterated that counterterrorism efforts under the National Action Plan framework would continue in coordination with law enforcement agencies.
