The four personnel — Constable Yar Zada, Constable Dawood Khan, Constable Imran and Constable Siraj — were killed when their Ababeel Squad patrol was ambushed near Nawey Kalay shortly before iftar during Ramadan. The incident has prompted heightened security measures across the district.

A police contingent presented a guard of honour at the funeral ceremony, and officials laid floral wreaths on the coffins. Special prayers were offered for the deceased. Among those present were the Commandant Bajaur Scouts, District Police Officer (DPO) Bajaur Muhammad Khalid, the Deputy Commissioner Bajaur, SP Investigation and other senior police officers.

Following the ceremony, the bodies were sent to their native areas under official escort for burial.

According to a spokesperson for Bajaur Police, the Ababeel Squad had been assigned routine patrol duties to maintain security in markets and along key roads during Ramadan when unidentified militants carried out the attack.
