Islamabad: Benazir Income Support Programme Chairperson Rubina Khalid held a live E-Katcheri at the BISP Headquarters in Islamabad on Thursday to directly engage with beneficiaries and ensure effective resolution of their complaints.

The initiative was aimed at strengthening transparency, improving service delivery, and providing citizens with direct access to senior leadership of the programme. Beneficiaries from different parts of the country participated in the session and shared their concerns through live calls.

Addressing the participants, Senator Rubina Khalid said that the Benazir Income Support Programme embodies the vision of Benazir Bhutto, who devoted her life to empowering the poor and marginalized segments of society. She encouraged women beneficiaries to follow Benazir Bhutto’s example by standing up against exploitation and injustice.

The chairperson strongly advised beneficiaries to report any instances of illegal deductions, demands for extra payments, or misuse of programme funds. She reiterated that the financial assistance provided under BISP is the legitimate right of beneficiaries and must be disbursed in full without any unauthorized cuts.

Rubina Khalid assured participants that the programme maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward malpractice and negligence. She instructed BISP officials to ensure prompt action on all complaints and emphasized that delays or misconduct would not be overlooked.

Highlighting initiatives aimed at long-term empowerment, the chairperson said that practical measures are being implemented under the Benazir Hunarmand Programme. She informed that the Benazir Hunarmand Portal is now open, enabling eligible households to register for technical and vocational training to enhance employability and access sustainable livelihoods.

During the one-hour E-Katcheri, 27 callers raised issues related to biometric verification, re-survey, programme registration, and stipend disbursement. Senior BISP officials, including Directors General and relevant officers, were present to ensure immediate follow-up and coordination.

The chairperson concluded the session by directing concerned departments to resolve all complaints within the prescribed timeframe, reaffirming BISP’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and public welfare.
