Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan district, killing two Khwarij, including a local ring leader, during an exchange of fire, according to the military’s media wing.

In a statement, Inter-Services Public Relations said the operation was launched on reports of the presence of Khwarij in the area. During the operation, troops engaged the identified location, resulting in the deaths of two Khwarij.
ISPR identified one of those killed as Dilawar, described as a Kharji ring leader operating in the area.

Khwarij leader Dilawar carried government bounty
According to ISPR, Dilawar was wanted by law enforcement agencies for his alleged involvement in multiple terrorist activities. The statement said the government had announced head money of Rs4 million on him.
ISPR said the killed Khwarij were involved in attacks against security forces as well as the killing of civilians in the region.
Weapons and ammunition recovered
The military said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the Khwarij killed during the operation. ISPR stated that the recovered items were linked to the group’s activities in the area.
Security forces continue sanitisation operations
ISPR said sanitisation operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining Indian sponsored Kharji in the area.
The statement added that security forces, along with law enforcement agencies, will continue counterterrorism operations against foreign sponsored and supported terrorism, as described by the military.
