NGC Makes Strong Progress in ERP & ICT Modernization

NGC records over 85% progress in ERP and ICT modernization program

Lahore: The National Grid Company of Pakistan (NGC) has achieved over 85 percent progress in its ERP and ICT Modernization Program, marking a major step towards digital transformation and improved governance.

Steering committee reviews NGC digital transformation roadmap

During a 44th Steering Committee Meeting on ERP & ICT, Managing Director NGC, Engr. Altaf Hussain, stated that the modernization initiative is fully aligned with the Government of Pakistan’s vision of digitization, transparency, and efficient service delivery.

ERP system to improve operations and decision-making

He emphasized that the new ERP system will help NGC streamline operations, improve financial management, ensure real-time data availability, and enhance decision-making across the organization.

ICT upgrades focus on cybersecurity and system reliability

The upgraded ICT infrastructure will also strengthen cybersecurity, system reliability, and internal coordination.

Shift from manual processes to automated systems

The ERP & ICT program aims to replace outdated manual processes with standardized, automated, and transparent systems, enabling NGC to operate more efficiently as a modern national grid company.

Senior management briefed on milestones and testing

Senior management and technical teams briefed the meeting on the current progress, upcoming milestones, and system testing plans.

Core ERP modules now operational at NGC

The committee was informed that several critical ERP modules, including Finance, Human Capital Management, and Supply Chain Inventory, have been successfully activated, are fully operational, and are in the rollout phase.

Asset management systems move into production

In addition, Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) functionalities—covering operations, tripping, maintenance, and shutdown management—are now in production, establishing a unified and reliable platform for financial, asset, and operational data across the organization.

Remaining modules scheduled for rollout

Furthermore, the remaining components for Procurement, Treasury, Project Systems, Billing & Recovery, and e-Tendering are in the final stages of implementation and are scheduled for rollout in the coming months.

Technology adoption to support national power transmission

NGC remains committed to adopting modern technology solutions to support Pakistan’s growing energy needs and to ensure a reliable, transparent, and efficient transmission system for the country.
