Karachi — The Magnum Ice Cream Company Pakistan Limited has been formally incorporated in Pakistan, marking a structural change in the country’s frozen dessert and ice cream sector following the company’s global separation from Unilever Group earlier this year.
The incorporation comes after the global spin-off of The Magnum Ice Cream Company, which now operates as an independent entity and has been described as the world’s largest ice cream-focused company.
Magnum incorporated as a separate entity in Pakistan
The famous ice cream brand has been operating in Pakistan for more than three decades as part of Unilever Pakistan’s ice cream division. The establishment of Magnum Ice Cream Company Pakistan Limited formalises its separation from Unilever’s local operations and places the frozen desserts business under a dedicated corporate structure.
The company manages a portfolio of ice cream and frozen dessert brands sold nationwide, including Magnum, Wall’s, Cornetto, and locally produced brands such as Jet Sport and Choc Bar.
Magnum plans manufacturing and infrastructure expansion
According to the company, its global headquarters, The Magnum Ice Cream Company Netherlands B.V., plans to invest in Pakistan to expand manufacturing capacity, strengthen cold-chain infrastructure, and enhance digital operations. These investments are expected to support increased production volumes and operational efficiency.
The company stated that the planned expansion may lead to additional employment opportunities in the coming years.
Production scale and market strategy
The company in Pakistan currently produces millions of litres of ice cream annually and expects production volumes to increase in the coming months. The company indicated that its future strategy includes expanding its presence in the market, increasing product availability, and introducing changes aimed at higher-value segments within the category.
Management comments on business transition
Kayhan Zenginoglu, Country General Manager of Magnum Pakistan, said the incorporation marks a significant transition for the business in Pakistan, allowing it to operate with greater focus on the frozen desserts category while continuing existing consumer-facing operations.
Company’s position in Pakistan’s ice cream sector
