Rawalpindi — Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is on an official visit to Libya, where he held meetings with senior military leadership to discuss defence cooperation and regional security matters.
Asim Munir meets Libyan military leadership
During the visit, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir called on Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, and Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief. The meetings focused on issues of mutual interest, including regional security dynamics and bilateral military relations.
Guard of honour accorded to Asim Munir
Upon arrival, Pakisani Chief of Defence Forces was accorded a guard of honour by a contingent of the Libyan Armed Forces, marking the formal reception of the Pakistani military chief during his official engagements.
Talks on defence cooperation and security
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), discussions covered avenues for enhancing military-to-military cooperation, with emphasis on training, capacity building, and counter-terrorism collaboration between Pakistan and Libya.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s position on strengthening defence ties with Libya through continued engagement and cooperation. Libyan military leadership acknowledged Pakistan’s role in defence collaboration and conveyed interest in expanding bilateral military relations.
