Pakistan Army and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) are conducting a joint counterterrorism exercise titled Warrior-IX, underway from 28 November to 14 December 2025. The two-week training activity is designed to improve coordination and operational understanding between the two militaries.
Distinguished Visitors Day held at NCTC Pabbi
A Distinguished Visitors Day ceremony was held on 11 December at the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) in Pabbi. China’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, attended as chief guest, along with senior Chinese officials. The Chief of General Staff of the Pakistan Army participated as guest of honour.
Officials briefed on exercise objectives and drills
During the visit, the delegation received a briefing on the scope and conduct of the joint counterterrorism exercise. Visitors observed several counterterrorism drills carried out by troops from both countries.
Exercise reflects ongoing defence cooperation
Officials noted that the exercise is part of ongoing defence cooperation between Pakistan and China and is aimed at strengthening coordination on security matters at the operational level.
