Dubai International Chamber opens representative office in Karachi to expand trade ties

Karachi and Dubai: Dubai International Chamber has launched a new representative office in Karachi to support trade and investment flows between Pakistan and Dubai, as commercial links between the two markets continue to grow.

The office was inaugurated on December 9 during a ceremony attended by business leaders and officials, including the UAE’s Consul General in Karachi, Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Alremeithi.

Dubai International Chamber expands global outreach

The Karachi office has been established under the “Dubai Global” initiative, which aims to open 50 international representative offices by 2030 to support foreign investment and overseas business expansion.

The initiative forms part of Dubai’s broader economic strategy to strengthen its position as a global business hub.

Trade volumes and business registrations show sharp rise

Business activity between Pakistan and Dubai has expanded steadily in recent years. Pakistan’s non-oil trade with Dubai exceeded PKR 1.74 trillion in 2024.

Between early 2022 and the third quarter of 2025, the number of Pakistani companies registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce rose by 161%, reaching more than 33,000 businesses. During the first nine months of 2025 alone, 6,850 new Pakistani companies were registered.

Karachi office to support businesses in both markets

The new office of the Dubai International Chamber will work with Pakistani companies to help them access the Dubai market by offering market intelligence, business support, and links with public and private sector stakeholders.

It will also assist Dubai-based firms seeking to expand into Pakistan by providing guidance on local market conditions and helping connect them with business partners.

Officials attend inauguration ceremony

The inauguration of Dubai International Chamber’s Karachi office was attended by officials from both sides and members of Pakistan’s business community. Dubai Chambers President and CEO Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah was also present at the event.
