Two well-known Bangladeshi actresses and models have been arrested by the police for investigation in undisclosed cases.
According to media reports, famous actress and director Meher Afroz was recently taken into custody after unknown individuals set fire to her house, as well as her father’s residence.
Now, reports have emerged that actress Sohana Saba has also been detained for questioning.
It is reported that she was taken into custody on February 6 and brought to the Detective Branch office for interrogation.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Wilbur Rahman confirmed the interrogation of actress Sohana Saba.
Earlier, actress and director Meher Afroz Shaon was arrested from her residence in the Dhanmondi area of Dhaka.
Detective Branch Chief Razaul Karim Malik stated that Meher was detained on charges of conspiring against the country.
Notably, both actresses are considered supporters of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s party, the Awami League.
