SZABMU Lodges Complaint with FIA Against Digital Harassment of Officials

Islamabad: The Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU), has formally lodged a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Director General against digital harassment targeting the university’s officials by unknown individual(s) under the PECA Act 2025.

According to the university’s press release, an anonymous email containing baseless objections regarding routine transfer postings within the institution was circulated to various key government functionaries. The email also unfairly questioned the Vice Chancellor’s lawful and rule-based administrative decisions.
Vice Chancellor expressed serious concerns over this act of defamation, which not only tarnishes the institution’s reputation but also undermines the integrity of officials who are actively addressing irregularities within the university.
The Vice Chancellor emphasized that SZABMU, as a federal government medical institution, remains committed to merit, accountability, and service delivery in the fields of medical education and research across all provinces and regions. He warned that such harassment would not be tolerated and called upon the Director General, FIA to ensure that legal action is taken under the PECA Act and that the perpetrators are apprehended.
The Vice Chancellor further highlighted that the PECA Act 2025 safeguards the digital rights of both citizens and government institutions, reassuring students and officials that the university will continue its efforts to maintain transparency and accountability.
