X to Launch Payment Service in 2025, Partnering with Visa for Transactions

Elon Musk has been working on transforming X (formerly Twitter) into a platform similar to China’s WeChat, and a significant step towards this vision has now been revealed. X is launching a new payment service, X Money, set to be officially introduced in 2025. The service aims to integrate financial transactions directly into the social media platform, helping shape it into a super app.

According to X Money’s official account, the service will provide solutions for various financial activities. CEO Linda Yaccarino recently announced that Visa will be the first official partner, enabling users to send and receive money through Visa Direct. Users will also be able to connect via debit cards to use the service, with the option to directly transfer funds to bank accounts.

The service will first be introduced in the U.S., with plans to expand to other regions pending legal and financial approvals.
