Drinking One Glass of Milk Daily Reduces the Risk of Certain Types of Cancer

A major study conducted in the UK has provided evidence that consuming the equivalent of one glass of milk daily, which provides calcium, can significantly reduce the risk of colon cancer.
Researchers analyzed the diets of over 500,000 women aged 16 and above and found that foods rich in calcium, such as leafy greens, bread, and even non-dairy milk with added calcium, also have a protective effect.
The team also discovered that excessive alcohol consumption and processed meats had the opposite effect, increasing the risk of the disease.
Cancer charity organizations suggest that avoiding smoking and maintaining a balanced diet with healthy weight is the best way to reduce the risk of colon cancer.
Research from Oxford University and Cancer Research UK shows that adding an extra 300 milligrams of calcium to one’s daily diet, equivalent to a large glass of milk, can reduce the risk of cancer by up to 17%.
