After announcing it a year and a half ago, video streaming platform YouTube has introduced its AI-powered dubbing service. The company shared the news of this feature along with examples of videos that have used auto-dubbing.
This feature is available for millions of informational or educational YouTube Partner Program channels and will be rolled out widely soon.
Using this feature, creators can dub their English-language videos into French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, or Spanish. However, only one language can be dubbed into English from these options.
The process will be automated, and creators will be able to preview their videos before they go live. The dubbed videos will be available in the YouTube Studio language section and will be labeled with “Auto-Dub.”
The company has shared three example videos with dubbing, two of which have been dubbed from French and Hindi to English, and one has been tested with various dubbing options for English.
