If yes, then you need to propose a safe and efficient way to recycle waste for future human missions to the Moon.
Through the “Lunar Recycler Challenge”, NASA is inviting ideas from people around the globe to tackle waste recycling challenges in space.
According to NASA, they are looking for technologies focused on recycling waste, which could be utilized in devices that aid exploration and operations in extraterrestrial environments.
The participant who provides the most innovative solution could win up to $300,000 (more than 82 crore PKR).
Anyone aged 18 or older from any country can submit their ideas for this program.
Participants can contribute to one of two competition tracks:
- Prototype Build Track
- Digital Twin Track

Phase 1:
- Focus on designing hardware and system concepts.
- No hardware or prototypes are required at this stage.
- Winners will receive a prize pool of $100,000.
Phase 2:
- Create a complete virtual system design.
- The winner of this phase will receive a cash prize of $200,000.
