Elon Musk, the owner of companies like Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter, aims to establish rocket platforms worldwide to provide the fastest travel options for people.
His company SpaceX envisions making travel between all cities possible in under an hour using the Starship spacecraft. Musk shared on X (formerly Twitter) that his “Earth to Earth” space travel project will become feasible once Donald Trump is re-elected as U.S. President.
This is not a new plan for Musk, as he has been discussing it for several years. In September 2017, during a conference in Adelaide, Australia, he mentioned that SpaceX would develop a big flying rocket (BFR) for transporting humans to Mars. According to Musk, this rocket would not only travel to Mars but could also transport passengers to any part of the Earth, similar to a commercial airplane.
He explained that this rocket could make trips to any part of the world in under an hour. In 2022, during an online address at the G20 conference in Bali, Indonesia, Musk reiterated his desire to establish rocket platforms globally. He stated that with such platforms, people could travel 20 times faster than the speed of sound to other parts of the Earth.
Musk further explained that if people could travel anywhere in less than an hour, the world would become truly accessible. According to SpaceX’s estimates, the journey from Los Angeles to Karachi could take 30 minutes, from London to New York 29 minutes, and between New York and Shanghai 39 minutes.
